Treatment 1

The film starts off with a flashback showing Lady Macbeth being murdered onstage during a performance of The Scottish Play. The murder was supposed to take place offstage, however it is soon realised that the murder is real. The flashback then ends and that film is about three students who are characters in The Scottish Play and have to rehearse. However, the students don't like the play, they're bored and begin to mock it. One of the students gets worried and asks them to stop, reciting the flashback from sixty years ago, and explains that there's a curse on whoever fails to refer to the play as 'The Scottish Play'. The other two students are sceptical of this however when strange things begin to occur, they wonder if the legend could be true. They become paranoid and try to do everything they can to avoid danger for fear of their lives. However, comsumed by this paranoia, ironically they cause their own deaths.

The target audience for our film will be either male or females over the age of 15, as the film certificate will be 15 due to language and violence. Our film is aimed at people who are into horror films. Particularly psychological horrors.

Treatment 2

The First minute of the opening sequence will be a flashback, in black and white, showing what happened sixty years ago during a performance of MacBeth. The flashback will show Lady MacBeth being murdered onstage rather than offstage, with the audience realising there has been a real murder. The stage curtains will then draw closed and re-open again, showing present day. On screen there will now be three students, rehearsing MacBeth. They will be fed up and bored, mocking the play. As they start to complain, the screen will freeze on each of their complaints and the curtains will draw closed, with the cast name appearing on screen. After each cast member has been named, they will still be mocking the play, however, strange things will then begin to happen. The lights will start flickering and there will be strange noises behind stage. This will scare the students and they will run to the door, only to find it locked. At this point, the screen will go black, and screams will be heard. The stage will then appear on screen with the curtains opening slowly, revealing the name of the film ‘The Final Act’.
